In lupus, the immune system loses its ability to tell the difference between foreign substances, such as viruses or bacteria, and the body’s healthy tissue. The result is the production of autoantibodies that attack healthy tissue.

Our sister Kawanna was diagnosed with lupus in 2006 at the age of 29, and since then has been spreading awareness to the community nonstop.  

You successfully completed 5 months of chemotherapy.      Your body may go through changes but your HEART & FAITH never waivers from what's most important........ GOD, family &  friends

Our sister Selam

Our sister Selam has had lupus for 11 years and is now doing dialysis and HATES it!! Because of lupus, at the age of 25, she gets poked about 20 times a week, while seating in the same position for, 5 hours, 3 times a week, while hooked up to a machine that cleans her kidneys that lupus attacked and distroyed.

 

She remains positive regardless of this,

She smiles past the pain........

Sisters Against Lupus is a non-profit organization spreading lupus awareness throughout the Pacific Northwest. Our Vision is to assist people living with lupus, to spread awareness and raise funds to find a cure.

We present our 1st Annual Shining A LIGHT On Lupus Benefit FASHION SHOW Sunday August 29th 2010 5 PM at The Mansion On 800 East Roy Street Seattle WA 98102

We have the hottest local leading-edge designer Isaiah Whitmore showing his line HoIA.  Very sexy and classy lounge wear and lingerie by Tangerine.  Two high-end boutiques, The Finerie which houses unique, glamorous, and fashion forward pieces for men and women.  Chez Chic offers beautiful and contemporary fashions for men and women.   We also have 6 profession photographers, gorgeous models, Top hair and makeup stylist in the industry.

We also have Incredible Music by the beautiful Melody Morgan,  Amazing sound of ELOh, and ending the show is the very talented and smooth Jay Townsend.  Our hosts for this fabulous evening are Eddie Frances from Kube 93.3, Michelle Lang, and J Charles from SoLSTARR

We are combining our love for fashion with our passion to spread lupus awareness.  This Fashion Show is a black tie event that will not only change lives but help save them.  Come support us and be a part of this great cause.  We hope you leave educated, empowered and inspired to join us in this fight against lupus.
